estibular (inner ear balance) disorders are surprisingly common. Due to a lack of awareness among medical professionals and the public, vestibular disorders are difficult to diagnose. Patients often spend 3-5 years and cycle through 7-9 doctors seeking a diagnosis. In the meantime, the patient continues to suffer physically, mentally and emotionally, sometimes becoming incapacitated and unable to perform basic daily functions.
Invitae is committed to providing patients and families with educational resources, and promoting and funding medical research for treatments and cures for those with vestibular disorders.
